Reading is Fundamental (RIF) is the nation's largest children's literacy program. The non-profit organization asked kapow to create a mini-website to provide resources for parents to encourage reading in preschoolers, toddlers and babies. kapow's challenge was to design a colorful, engaging website that immediately captures the imagination and attention of a child. The highly interactive site provides a range of exciting activities that help children discover the joy of reading along with their parents. kapow also provided a Spanish-language version of the site. The original animal characters for the site were designed by Fuszion.
Site features include:
- Animated home and landing pages that have integrated sound and are fun to explore.
- Listings of stories and nursery rhymes that parents can read to their children.
- Lullabies with lyrics and accompanying sound recordings.
- Interactive games and finger plays that lay the foundations of the reading process.
- A Resource Area for parents, including books, activities and advice.
